As part of the 13849 requirements the Interlock under review must be analyzed to determine the performance level required.

This will define how the actual hardware interlock circuit must be designed and the reliability of the components chosen.

Once the circuit is designed then there must be a review to prove that the performance level achieved meets or exceeds the performance level required.
